Assisting Ministers
help lead worship, read prayers, serve communion and speak the dismissal. Assisting ministers work with
the pastor. Can serve as often as desired.
Lectors read scripture lessons and share God’s Word. Lectors sit with the congregation and come
up to the lectern at the appropriate time. Can indicate preference for early or late service
and serve as often as
desired.
Communion Servers bring the elements,
bread wafers and wine, forward during the offertory and help
distribute the sacrament to the congregation. Can
indicate preference for early or late service and serve as
often as desired.
A-Team (Altar Guild) works behind the
scenes to set up communion for worship services; also responsible for altar paraments, ensuring
that proper liturgical color is used. Members serve one
month, two times a year.
Ushers prepare facilities before
worship, distribute bulletins, help with seating, direct
congregation during communion, collect offering and handle security
and medical emergencies.
Greeters focus on the needs of visitors
and make them feel welcome. Teams serve on a
rotating basis during the year.
Welcome team collects attendance
sheets and contacts visitors.
Hospitality Team
prepares and serves meals and coordinates kitchen for receptions,
special events and funerals. Members are responsible for set up,
table decoration and clean up. Team leader serves two months.
Robe Maintenance maintains robes and
collars worn by assisting ministers, acolytes and choir members.
