Nursery
Zion has a nursery to accommodate younger children both during the Education hour (9:45am - 10:45am) and during worship (11:00am - 12:00pm). Feel free to utilize our nursery, but children are also welcomed in worship!!!
GPS - Godly Play Sanctuary has 3 parts: learning through story-telling, working according to individual interests, and experiencing through the shared feast. Godly Play environment allows participants to question, share their wonderment, and express opinions freely without criticism. It teaches children the art of using Christian language - parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical action - helping them become more fully aware of they mystery of God's presence in their lives.
Godly Play meets upstairs in the Godly Play room from 9:45am - 10:45am. Members and guests are welcome to attend!
Middle School - 6th through 8th grades
Activities include: Confirmation class, Sunday School lock-ins, miniature golf, Astros games, swimming, movies, Confirmation camp at Lutherhill (June), Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) events and service projects.
Senior High - 9th through 12th grades
Activities include: movies, progressive dinners, bowling, lock-ins, worship planning, Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) events, Senior High Adventure Trip (summer) and service projects.
Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast Synod Lutheran Youth Organization opportunities for Jr. and Sr. High Youth, as well as adults, include: Lutherhill Advent Retreats, Jr. High LYO Event, Sr. High LYO Event, Ministry Teams, Children's Ministry Conference, Tri-Synodical Men's Gathering, LYO Spiritual Retreat, and Disciple Project.
